Elizabeth Fortener PT, CSCS
Staff Physical Therapist
Liz is originally from Ohio and received her Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Ohio in 2005. Liz moved to Raleigh in 2008 and worked closely with Jaime Holt for several years at the Athletic Performance Center. She spent the last 3 years doing Travel Physical Therapy and has traveled all over the country practicing Physical Therapy in the outpatient orthopedic setting in 6 different states. She is excited to be returning to Raleigh, and is a great addition to our Holt PT staff.
Liz grew up participating in many sports including soccer, basketball, volleyball, and track. She suffered numerous knee injuries, which eventually led to knee surgery while she was in High School. Having to go through the rehabilitation process is when she decided to become a Physical Therapist. She has a passion for helping athletes of any age return to their sport of choice. She feels that education is one of the most important aspects of any rehabilitation program and includes it in every treatment session.
Liz is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She is also a Graston Technique provider, which is a form of instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, and has completed the Kinesiotaping courses by the Kinesiotaping Association.
